With Resident Evil Village and Hood, two newcomers are at the top of the Steam Charts.

A lot has happened in the Steam Charts this week: After PlayerUnkown’s Battleground was suddenly at the top of the bestseller list again, this time there are two newcomers at the top.

Resident Evil 8 climbs the Steam charts

It was a little to be seen that the horror hit Resident Evil: Village would sell well. In the international table of ratings, the current series part was able to win a number of awards and high ratings. The action-heavy horror excursion was also convincing in the Globe Live Media test.

The fans on Steam also seem enthusiastic: For the first time ever, a Resident Evil title was played by more than 100,000 people at the same time. The Steam Reviews are also very positive with 94 percent positive ratings and currently 12,000 votes.

It is therefore not surprising that Resident Evil 8: Village immediately secured first place in the Steam Charts – but that the horror adventure appears three times in the bestsellers, but it does. This is because many players have also resorted to the Deluxe Edition or the complete package including Resident Evil 7.

Medieval game Hood surprisingly high up

The significantly bigger surprise is the placement of Hood: Outlaws & Legends: The co-op PVP game, in which two teams of four duel to steal a bulging treasure chest, took second place.

Hood will not officially be released until today, May 10, 2021, but many players have already struck in advance sales – significantly more than for example with the Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. Those who pre-ordered the game got three days early access and were able to jump into the multiplayer battles last weekend.
