A few days ago we received the official announcement of Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, the direct sequel to Fallen Order that will continue the story of one of the last Jedi, Cal, after 5 years; a story that began with its first installment in 2019, but before it was launched, its possible continuation was already being considered.

After receiving its first cinematic trailer, we have learned new details about its development, and it turns out that it began before Fallen Order was released.

Star Wars: Jedi Survivor has been in development for at least 4 years
Stig Asmussen, director of the game, has offered several statements about the game, clarifying that won’t be released until 2023 and that the first part of its development began earlier than we imagined.

We started working on it in earnest even before the completion of Fallen Order, gathering ideas for what a sequel could look like. We cut a lot of things from Jedi: Fallen Order that we knew we wanted to put into a sequel. We talked about more combat positions, story ideas, the evolution of Cal and the crew, the focus of the worlds and game levels, and how to expand them to make them even more vibrant than in the past.
