If little information has yet been revealed about the remake of Silent Hill 2, one thing is certain: it will mark a new era in the history of Bloober Team according to the CEO of the studio.

After Dead Space and Resident Evil 4, Silent Hill 2 will be the next classic horror game to return in front of the stage through a new version. Announced by Konami several months ago, the title developed by Bloober Team remains very discreet for the moment, even if the study sometimes allows some secrets about it. But during a recent interview for IGN, Piotr Babieno insisted that he was going to mark a new page in the history of the study.

Silent Hill 2, a big turning point for Bloober Team

Indeed, if Bloober Team already has great successes to its credit, such as Layers of Fear or The Medium for example, CEO now wants to be able to compete with industry bigwigs. So it will start with the release of the new version of Silent Hill 2, which will serve as an entry point into the big leagues by partnering with one of the most iconic survival horror franchises. Also, although nothing has been decided yet, this collaboration with Konami around the series could well continue in the future.

However, at a time when shopping has become commonplace, Babieno insisted that the Bloober Team absolutely wants to remain independent.. “If someone were to buy us out, they might one day make the decision, ‘Maybe we could put them on a different project,’ and I don’t want to.” particularly assured. “We had a renewal of the strategic options and we decided that as a company we would like to follow the path of independence”.

A bright future of independence in anticipation

This should therefore ensure a bright future for the Polish studio, which has not ceased to be talked about in recent years with its many projects. And if the remake of Silent Hill 2 is obviously eagerly awaited by fans today, remember that Bloober Team will return for the first time in June 2023 with a new opus Layers of Fear, scheduled to launch for PS5, Xbox Series X | S and PC. As for Silent Hill, a release window has not yet been communicated, although more information about it should arrive soon according to Babieno.
