NEW YORK — Authorities are looking for the suspect who attacked a Hispanic mother in Manhattan with a screwdriver and it all happened in front of the girl’s eyes, New York police said.
The event occurred on Wednesday, March 1 around 3:57 p.m. in a very busy area of Manhattan: in front of 212 57 West Street, just one block from Central Park. According to the police report, the 61-year-old woman was walking around the neighborhood when she was allegedly randomly assaulted by a suspect who injured her with a screwdriver.
The victim suffered an injured arm and was taken to hospital. Mount Sinai West Hospital in stable condition.
“When he took out the gun he immediately put it here, I felt the pain and the blood started to flow,” the victim told Our Sister Network. NBC 4.
The alleged attacker is described as a dark-skinned, yellow-haired man. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket and orange hoodie and holding a Target shopping bag.
