Shinji MikamiCEO and Founder of tango gameswill leave the study after more than 12 years.

The march was announced by Bethesda Senior Vice President, Todd Vaughn(thanks TrueAchievements), which stated in a company-wide email that “Shinji Mikami has decided to leave Tango Gameworks in the coming months.”

“Mikami-san has been a creative leader and supportive mentor for young developers at Tango for 12 years through his work on the Evil Within franchise, Ghostwire: Tokyo and, of course, Hi-Fi Rush.”

Mikami has not only been involved in games developed at Tango Gameworks, but has also worked on many renowned titles such as Resident Evil, Dino Crisis, Viewtiful Joe and Vanquish. It’s unclear what Mikami’s next steps will be, but with his departure in the coming months, Tango Gameworks will struggle to find a suitable replacement.

What do you think of Mikami’s walk from Tango?
