Last week, from April 3 to 9, was one of the weakest of the year in the Spanish video game market, both in terms of software and hardware. With several holidays around Easter, people have had less time to shop and more to consume, and until the big launches and communion season arrive, little will change the landscape. This, in recent years, has meant that games with “legs” (notably from Nintendo) are taking advantage of this to monopolize the top.

If the previous week we saw Samus Returns due to Metroid Prime Remastered restocking and Resident Evil 4’s second decent result, when Leon S. Kennedy faltered in his third week, a usual top suspect takes advantage of the Situation, Nintendo Switch’s best-selling game.

We are obviously talking about Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, for which an additional 2,500 copies were enough to be the best-selling title of the period and continue to add to that million that was scored in week 11. This is a mediocre figure for the best-selling game of any week, but impressive for the racing title that does not lack gas and obviously sees its best publicity in Super Mario Bros. TheMovie.

In fact, apart from Super Mario Odyssey, which repeats at the top with over 1,700 units, the second Mario + Rabbids with another thousand and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury and even New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, both at over 900 units. taking advantage of the Marian attraction and certain offers.

Hardware sales: PS VR2 facing its true reality

With console sales at a steady pace and independent of releases, it’s once again striking how much of the launch effect of the PlayStation VR2 headset has dissipated. We do not know if it is the lack of promotion, the price close to 600 euros or the absence of great games that hit the mark, but the fact is that a little more than 250PSVR2so at Sony they will calculate how to reverse the situation before opting for the inevitable pre-Christmas sale.

Consoles, very similar to week 13: almost 7,500 PS5s and Nintendo have kept in their 4.000 Switchwhile Microsoft is still slacking off with about 700 Xbox Series X|S.

Next week we will see the results of the current one, which is just as boring as the previous one in terms of launches. At least Minecraft Legends, Advance Wars, and Dead Island 2 come to liven up the roost.
