A new job posting at Bungie suggests that for its next title, the studio will move away from its in-house engine used to create Destiny and build its new projects with the Unreal Engine.

A job posting for a Level Designer and Environment Artist will require Unreal Engine experience from the successful candidate. This doesn’t necessarily confirm that Bungie will be using Unreal Engine 5 for this upcoming unannounced multiplayer title, but it does hint that the studio could be heading in that direction.

Aside from the details that Bungie might be switching to Unreal Engine for this project, we don’t have much more information. The studio has several projects in the works, so it could be that only one uses the Unreal Engine, while others will remain on Tiger’s in-house engine.

Do you think Bungie should make the jump to Unreal Engine now?
