Capcom announced that it will release the latest game series “Resident Evil Village” on May 8th, and has started accepting reservations. Initially, it was planned to be released for PS5 / Xbox Series X / PC, but new support for PS4 / Xbox One has been announced.

Users who purchased the PS4 version can later upgrade to the PS5 compatible digital version for free at no additional cost, and the Xbox One version will be able to play for free on Xbox Series X through smart delivery.

As usual, there are several editions available, including the “Digital Deluxe Edition” with added content for all hardware. In the package version, the “Collector’s Edition” will be released, which includes Chris figures, steel books, art books, double-sided posters, trauma pack product codes, etc. in the “Digital Deluxe Edition”.

For players who haven’t played the previous story-related work, a digital bundle version of “Resident Evil 7” and “Resident Evil Village” has also been prepared. Users who have purchased the digital bundle version will be able to fully prepare for “Resident Evil 7” by the release date in May.

A visual demo named “MAIDEN” for PS5 only will be available from January 22nd. The content is to investigate the girl who will be the player and aim to escape from the closed space. Capcom also said that a trial version different from “MAIDEN” is being prepared separately.

In addition, “Resident Evil Village” purchasers will also be able to play the online multiplayer game “Resident Evil RE: Bath” for free. This is the 25th anniversary of the series, in which 4 to 6 popular characters in the series compete, and the player who defeats the most opponent characters in 5 minutes and earns points wins. However, when the character is defeated, it evolves into BOW (organic life form weapon), so it seems that the play that considers being defeated strategically will lead to the final victory.

“Resident Evil RE: Bath” is scheduled to undergo a closed beta test for PS4 and Xbox One from January 28th to 30th. Those who wish to participate can apply from the dedicated site.

The tax-excluded price of “Resident Evil Village” is 7990 yen for a single package. The package version of “Collector’s Edition” is also 28,790 yen. Both will be released for PS5 / PS4.

The normal download version for all hardware is 7264 yen. The “Digital Deluxe Edition” is 8173 yen for the console version and 8276 yen for the PC version.

And the “Complete Bundle” that includes “Village” and “7” is 9082 yen. The separately sold DLC “Trauma Pack” is 1182 yen.
