The chainsaw demonstration for Resident Evil 4 Remake scares players with Flaming Chainsaw Man as a secret boss. This dangerous enemy can be unlocked in Mad Chainsaw mode, which becomes available randomly after beating the demo at least once. The RE4 Remake demo went live yesterday as officially announced during the Capcom Spotlight 2023 showcase.
The Flaming Chainsaw Man is a callback to the original game’s Mercenaries mode.
As if the normal Chainsaw Man wasn’t difficult enough, this upgraded Flaming Chainsaw Man can be found in the same area near downtown. This boss may remind Resident Evil fans of the Giant Chainsaw Man that can appear in The Expendables mode for Resident Evil 4. As a post on Reddit shows, this monster was also holding a chainsaw with flames coming out of it, so it looks like to a fresh Easter egg. Either that or maybe RE4 Remake will also have a high difficulty mode that includes this boss as well.
The requirements to unlock Mad Chainsaw mode are a bit random, but it seems players need to complete the demo at least once and then wait for the mode to go live when they start playing again. If it does not appear, you can exit the demo and restart it until the mode is activated.
In other news, GameStop has canceled many pre-orders for the Resident Evil 4 Remake Collector’s Edition. On the plus side, the game will come with a revamped version of The Mercenaries mode.
