Resident Evil Village was the first step for Capcom’s horror franchise on the new generation of consoles. Now, the Japanese company wants there to be more Resident Evil on the new hardware, or at least that has been shown with the announcement of the next-gen versions of Resident Evil 2 , Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 7 that will arrive this year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

They arrive as standalone releases, but also as free updates. As the official Resident Evil Twitter account explains , “Those who own these games on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be able to access a digital upgrade at no additional cost .” Later, he adds in another message that “update patches for all three games will also be available to PC gamers at no additional cost when the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S versions are released.”

What are the next-gen improvements of Resident Evil 2, 3 and 7

There is no date, but there are three images corresponding to each of the games in these reviews for PS5, Xbox Series and PC. On the other hand, in addition to the obvious resolution improvement , Capcom has confirmed some of the improvements that these revisions will bring to new consoles:
