PS Store is down in Croatia for the second consecutive month. Or partially down, at least. Users can only buy games if they have prepaid cards, which would be hard to find.

PS Store inactive in Croatia due to exchange rate

The problem stems from a currency change that the Croatian government announced well in advance.

According to a ResetEra user, Croatia has announced that it will switch from Kuna to Euro in early 2022, giving businesses enough time to implement the changes. The ride was smooth, for the most part, but Sony couldn’t keep up.

Croatian users apparently received an email notifying them that PS Store purchases will be temporarily disabled two months ago and received free PS Plus Essential to compensate for this. However, there has been no communication since then, and people have to buy prepaid PSN cards, which some users say are hard to come by.

The issue has become a serious headache for those with PS5 digital consoles and premium accounts established in Croatia.

Granted, Croatia isn’t a huge market for Sony (they got some great PlayStation stamps though), that’s pretty poor planning on the company’s part. We hope the issue will be resolved soon.
