Alderon Games has released a major update for Path of Titans, their dinosaur survival MMO.

There’s a lot here, but we’ll point out some of the highlights. Three meshes, subspecies, and dinosaur animations have been updated for Ceratosaurus, Concavenator, and Metriacanthosaurus. Also included are combat updates, optimizations, and bug fixes.

The full patch notes for the Path of Titans update are as follows:

**Important Updates:**

**Eagle:**

  • Fixed missing collision from cave asset

  • Several small caves were placed in Gondwa.
  • Adjusted autoshadow bias of all lousy cave pieces to improve their appearance on medium and low shadow settings
  • Increased all quest mark rewards by 30% (Gondwa)
  • More caves were added to Gondwa.
  • Added a large cave system to the savannah grasslands.
  • Improved shadows on cave and cliff meshes. Caves should no longer have light coming through the walls. Cast shadows from caves and cliff rocks should now be improved on low and medium shadow settings.
  • Added an additional path to the source cave in huntersthocket
  • Fixed bigquilllake poi not including baby spawn zone
  • Added two small paths down from the baby spawn zone in Bigquilllake to make it easier for new players playing semi-aquatic to get to the water/rest of the quest zone.
  • Fix for multiple group missions not having contribution enabled
  • Added solo and group quests to Hot Springs and Sand Caverns.
  • Added additional Youth Flyer spawn points to Gondwa.
  • Attempted solution for the desolate pass location marker that is underground

  • Attempted fix for some water restoration missions not working (Gondwa)

**Combat:**

  • Fixed bars and stacking of Anodont’s Gathering Call ability.
  • Pachycephalosaurus bug fix
  • Fixed baby deinocheirus having very low oxygen.
  • Improved kaiwhekea oxygen.
  • Sarco and Spino reduced swimming speed.
  • Fixed bone breaking sounds/effects not playing on a killing blow
  • When a player kills another character, now only the killing character can collect a trophy on the same account.
  • Fixed bone break sound playing with incorrect damage ratio
  • Updated conca bite animation. Increased conca speed.
  • Updated conca alert call.
  • Updated conca strafe/crouch animations.
  • Updated cerato strafe and crouch animations to fix slippage.
  • Fixed conca held item offset.
  • Improved controller navigation for the home cave decor menu.
  • Removed the growth reward from Gathering Quests.
  • Fixed aquatics always move slightly up/down when swimming forward/backward.
  • Fixed a group of flying dinosaurs coming out of the hatchling cave spawning at a ground spawn point.

  • Fix for incorrect hit effect placements.

**General Fixes:**

  • Enhanced upstream/downstream swimming in deinocheirus, megalania, sarcosuchus, thalassodromeus, kaiwhekea, spinosaurus, suchomimus and concavenator
  • Fixed Kaiwhekea dropping items through the ground on land.
  • Fixed player field getting stuck when exiting water.
  • Fixed Alioramus animations resetting too quickly.
  • Fixed certain thal and kai skins being unlocked by default.
  • Fixed Spino’s arms digging into the ground during rest emotes.
  • Fixes to tutorial missions getting stuck in certain scenarios.
  • Memory improvements
  • It made the effects of particles swimming on the surface smaller.
  • Added a splash effect when breaching.
  • Updated kaiwhekea mobile model to improve neck bending.
  • Fixed some dinosaurs always respawning in the same place.
  • Fixed resetting growth in some circumstances.
  • Fixed characters not having a landing sound.
  • Aquatics now interrupt their roar when they dive and roar.
  • Fixed Carnivores not having an icon above burrows when hungry.
  • Fix for keybindings not working when an interaction prompt is open if it is bound to the same key as an interaction key
  • Fixed dinosaurs briefly playing the drop animation when exiting the water.
  • Changed the diet type of Catch Fish quests to Carnivore so that Aquatic Herbivores don’t get the Fish quest.
  • Fixed duplicate keybinding on unassigned control.
  • Range distance now scales based on growth stage.
  • Redisland mission enabled for aquatic mission tag
  • Added solo and group locomotive missions in Azureshore, Hot Springs, and Sand Caverns
  • Added Oceanstacks and Redreef solo location quests.
  • Increase initial flight boost to prevent double jump on the fly while idling
  • Fixed keybinding warning not showing in-game.
  • Fix for not being able to start autorun if an object’s focus and autorun are bound to the same as collect
  • Fixed ground dinosaurs spawning at flyer spawn points coming out of the tutorial cave when grouped with a flying dinosaur leader.
  • Fixed dinosaurs can now eat while swimming, UI showing while swimming
  • Animation fix for lamb and eotrike.
  • Bug fix for that usage distance.
  • Fixed camera collision in food managed by food manager.
  • Added quests for Volcano Bay and Bleached Coral POIs.

  • Fixed a bug that would cause trying to pick up fish through an attack while holding an item
  • When teleporting into the water, the location will be on the surface of the water instead of above it.
  • Fixed incorrect animations when swimming up and down without following the camera (meg and conca)
  • Fix item going to 0.0 if dropped while moving from water to land

  • Improved memory optimization on mobile devices to reduce crashes
  • Added in the first version of the random game hint system in the escape menu.

  • Set to the tiling of the mound texture.
  • Critter Meat Pickup Fix
  • Fix for some abilities not resetting tracking data if their mount lasts longer than the ability
  • Minor changes to help enable delay/packet loss rejected capability
  • Greater consistency to rest underwater.
  • Always show the sleep button while sleeping on mobile (prevent player from being stuck in a sleep state).
  • Food items/quest items now have a manager which makes them more memory optimized (needs testing for regressions)
  • Fixed marks not being attached/overflow detection with chat commands /setmarks, /setmarksall, /addmarks, /removemarks
  • Fix for Rockfall Hill water resupply quest not being delivered
  • Fixed misspelling of anemone.
  • Minor bug fix on Gondwa map
  • Fixed thalassodromeus spring arm placement too far in front of model. Now the camera behaves correctly when entering interactable.
  • Fixed up/down animators not playing when swimming with up/down buttons

  • Kai’s precise swimming movement no longer prevents the movement from following the camera.
  • Fixed: Thalassodromeus does not play the flapping animation + implementation of a simple airbrake system for when moving fast while flying and decelerating using precise movement
  • Added a tutorial step from Rest to Aquatic.
  • Slightly adjusted some aquatic tutorial text to make more sense.
  • Fixed crash when loading invalid skin data. The skin data will be changed to the first default skin data if it is invalid
  • Fixed: The precise forward movement of the hatchlings beat plays the animation extremely fast
  • Attempted fix for Water Restoration quests not delivering on: White Cliffs, Crater Pool, Red Island, Tried Falls, Rockslide Hill, Tyrants Gorge
  • Fixed various Group Missions assigned to individual players.
  • Fix for missing coral rock collision
  • Reduced the gathering amounts of solo and group Seaweed missions to be similar to other gathering missions.
  • Fixed: The hatchling sarco trot animation has a broken leg
  • Fixed green jungle skin options being too saturated and appearing transparent in character editor
  • Added particle data for edible items to use that while eating, instead of spawning the blood particle in the animation to fix
  • Lambeo hill climb issue fix
  • Changed precise swim motion fix from apply to swim->fall to just swim->walk, will fix issue with precise motion reversal when momentarily leaving the water surface
  • Lambeo ik correction on hills
  • Changes in swimming mood
  • Added back up/down function to swim for that.
  • Fix for sticky water surface no longer sticking to aquatic/semi-aquatic dinos now the way to go down is using the swim down/swim down key link widget mobile
  • Locomotion animations, mesh, and updated metri textures.
  • Refactored and improved mark attachment code, /addmarks and /removemarks now report the new mark value in the chat window.
  • Fixed swimming strafing on the water surface.
  • Arrangement for swimming on the surface of the water.
  • Fix for not being able to move after canceling out of a cave on mobile
  • Fixed: Single player host config localization, fixed defaults and many of them not working at all
  • Fixed: kaiwhekea has wrong feeding animation on land
  • Stop eating food if it falls (for example, if a player bites).
  • Stop precise movement when opening the starting cave invite/escape menus.
  • Added a new mod download error message showing details about which mod failed to install.
  • Fixed: The hatchling sarco trot animation has a broken leg
  • Fixed issue with walking in place with new locomotion state (sarco)
  • Fixed issue with command response format on consoles causing significant delay for some commands
  • Fixed kai barrel spin canceling instantly if the ability’s charge mode is set to sustain.
  • Fixed some plants having collision in the herbi tutorial cave.
  • Added a warning in the main menu if the player had duplicate keybindings.
  • Fixed: Issues with target focus distance in the interaction system
  • Fixed: Duplicate entries can be linked in child and gamepad columns by closing settings and going back.
  • Bug fix with game asset manager/loading
  • Fixed Kai not being able to pick up chunks of meat from corpses underwater.
  • Changed the way the device memory warning works to display it more accurately.
  • Fixed kaiwhekea’s vocal animations completely canceling locomotion animations.
  • Fix for search flag multiplier not being reflected in notification
  • Fix for bugs occasionally not being able to be interacted with.
  • Server performance optimizations
  • Avoid opening the vocal wheel when interacting with an object if the keys are bound in the same way
  • Fixed kaiwhekea getting the drink prompt and the ability to drink while grounded no longer gets the drink water prompt.
  • Added: Warning for PCs and mobile devices that are low on memory and may encounter memory failures.
  • Fixed eating while swimming for Styraco and Metri.

**Server administrators:**

  • Fixed occasionally falling through the map when teleporting in single player.
  • Improvements to teleporting around water for aquatics and also using water as a backup for non-aquatics if land cannot be found.
  • Fix for insecure teleport not working for rcon

  • Adding marks no longer overflows over the mark limit
  • Fixed not allowing server muted players to post looking for group messages or open group messages.
  • Fixed issue with /demote failing when no player was supplied as the second argument

All Switch players can download the new Path of Titans update now.
