Nippon Ichi Software has revealed information about Xicatrice’s characters and systems. Xicatrice will be an RPG where you play as a teacher who leads a normal school life. As a teacher, you will have to take care of the physical conditions of your students, as well as give them their lessons. In these lessons, you can help them develop skills to use in battle. The battle system will be turn-based where you choose between suggestions from your students. Only the student you choose will move this turn, but there are passive abilities that allow unchosen students to attack.
There will also be a skills development component. Each skill is part of a specialization, and learning a skill requires your students to meet certain requirements. For example, to learn resurrection, you will need to be part of the Healing Arts specialization, have 44 Focus and 53 Logic. While you can give your students any skill you want out of the game’s 300, they have their own strengths and weaknesses.
There are characters who are not students of Xicatrice Also. Renshi Kamiya will be the lead. He was also a college student with superpowers, but he lost them in a certain incident. He is now a teacher and head of RAUT Unit 302. His colleagues include Takayuki Akutsu, who is the leader of the AUT team, and Rui Akutsu, who can use a special device called CUAD to help students overcome emotional scars. .
Xicatrice is in development for PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch. It will be released on June 29, 2023.
