There has been a lot of news and speculation about Nicholas Cage and the reason for his involvement in so many B movies over the years. People whispered that he didn’t care about his career anymore or that he just lost touch. Charges he wanted to put an end to once and for all in an interview with CBS News, in which he discusses the collapse of the real estate market which led him to take on heavy debts, money he already has. managed to repay thanks to work.

“I had invested too much in real estate. The real estate market crashed and I couldn’t get out in time. I paid them all back, but it was around $6 million. I never got out. declared bankruptcy.”

“Work has always been my guardian angel. It might not have been great, but it was work nonetheless. Even though the movie ended up being bad, they knew it wasn’t sloppy, that I always cared.”

He also told GQ that the hardest thing was when he appeared in four movies a year, that he had to find some substance there to hold on to in order to be the best he could be.

“When I was making four films a year, one after the other, I still had to find something in them to be able to give it my all.”

“They didn’t work, all of them. Some were great, like Mandy, but some didn’t work. But I never gave up. So if there was a misconception, that was it. That I was just doing it and I didn’t care, but I didn’t care.
