After a rocky launch, Square Enix has unveiled the first set of Forspoken DLCs, titled “In Tanta We Trust”. Sending Frey back to Athia’s past, the new RPG game update is about rescuing Athia once again, while rescuing Frey herself in the process.

In Tanta We Trust is a prequel set 25 years before the events of Forspoken. Still seeking to mend the rift and get Athia back on track, Frey is pulled through time by unknown forces, landing right in the middle of Rheddig’s Purge, the final battle that sees Athia thrown into chaos.

He will fight alongside Tanta Cinta with a new set of magic abilities, including more parkour abilities, in an effort to stop the bleeding and eliminate Rheddig’s forces.

The Forspoken DLC will be released on May 26, and those who pre-purchased the game will have access on May 23..

If you don’t want spoilers from the main game, I suggest you stop reading now. After all, all the extension-specific information is above.

I am personally very excited for this DLC. I stand very firmly on the hill of “Forspoken Wasn’t So Bad” and will probably die here, so for me a DLC is exactly what I need to keep the hype going.

I am particularly delighted with the participation of Tanta Cinta. During the events of Forspoken, we find out that she is Frey’s biological mother and sent Frey to our universe to protect her from the Break. Their reunion in the base game is short but sweet, so I can’t wait to see how they interact together in the DLC.

If you too are on the ‘Forspoken was not so bad’ bandwagon, welcome back! He is alone here. Be sure to check out our overview of the different types of Forspoken magic Frey can use, as well as the best Forspoken builds so you can revive Rheddig in all his bloody glory.
