Mobox celebrates its second anniversary by launching a long speech on its plans for version 2.0 of its web3 ecosystem. This includes connecting to additional channels, the MoMoverse extension, improved avatars, three new games (including an MMO) and more!

Mobox started out as a gameified challenge system for their MBOX token which also hosted a few simple mobile-style games. But over the past two years, they have grown tremendously. They built a multiplayer world, merged their MoMo mining system, and steadily built their world system ever since. Now they come to us with even bigger plans for 2023!

Extension by Arbitrum

Cross-chain implementations are becoming increasingly popular in Web3 games. And Mobox is ready to join the expansion beyond Binance Chain. The first stop is Ethereum, or more specifically Arbitrum. Its purpose is to provide cross-chain compatibility with your NFTs between the two chains. And to start, they will be rolling out a new collection of NFTs known as MODragons.

MODragons will debut on Arbitrum in the form of Genesis Dragon Eggs. These eggs will be delivered to Mobox players and dedicated users of the Arbitrum network. Details of this airdrop should be announced soon.

MoMOverse will also see an expansion. They want to increase the number of tools and services available with MoMoVerse. Cross-chain collaborations will bring additional continents, each representing a different connected blockchain.

At the center will be a floating island where players can claim land, build a house, and carve out a place for themselves in the virtual world. MoMoverse will be the center of the ecosystem, with integration for all Mobox games. They also want to connect their suite of tools, allowing users to develop their own integrated apps and games.

Avatars will also see a significant improvement in graphics. Mobox Avatar 2.0 brings a more detailed 3D look to player avatars. Owners of current Mobox avatars will receive a free airdrop of a 2.0 version. These should arrive at the same time as the game map is updated.

New games

Additionally, Mobox plans to build on its existing suite of games with three new additions to its platform in 2023. These are King of Chaos, Dragon Battlefield, and Project M.

King of Chaos is an RPG-style adventure game. It’s unclear whether it will be active play or clicker-style strategy. Dragon Battlefield appears to be a real-time strategy game with mechanized dinosaurs for units.

But his most ambitious project is an MMO called “Project M”. However, this name is only temporary. Mobox plans to let a DAO make the most important decisions about the game, including the name (Gamey McGameFace, maybe?)! In his words:

“PROJECT M will be the first MMORPG game designed and developed by DAO on the blockchain. Every major step of the design and development process will be decided throughout the day, including game mechanics, game name, resources game features, game skins, and more!

We have no information on how this process will work or who will be part of the DAO. It could end up creating something incredible or turn into a total disaster. Either way, it should be an interesting experience. And I can’t wait to see what approach Mobox will take to setting up and managing the DAO for Project M.

Learn more about Mobox 2.0

There is a lot more information included in his article. You can read it here for more information on Tokenomics tweaks, API updates, a new Mobox wallet, and physical merchandise.

But the next biggest feature might be Fusion Hub. Fusion Hub will be a collection of tools and APIs that developers can use to create new games for the Mobox ecosystem. Building tools to help developers integrate your ecosystem is an important feature right now. The space is still new and there are still plenty of opportunities for innovation and success!
