As Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test goes live and Valve shares the first trailers for its new FPS game, intrepid CSGO and CS2 gamers have unearthed a number of files hinting at the arrival of new Counter-Strike weapons. Strike 2, or at least weapon skins. These include new skins for the knife and some possible additions to Danger Zone as we get closer to Counter-Strike 2’s highly anticipated release date.

With the announcement of Counter-Strike 2 yesterday, some CSGO players are already taking part in the shooter’s first beta test. Keen Valve watchers dug through the files and found some interesting new skins and potentially a few new weapons.

We know that existing weapon models are getting a nice visual overhaul powered by Source 2, but we already have a preview of new knife and weapon skins that could be coming to CS2 this summer.

First up, we’ve got a new two-bladed knife, which looks a bit like Halo’s iconic power sword. This is most likely a new skin, but it could be a completely new weapon.

Located in Counter-Strike 2 Beta Files by Valve’s Content CreatorGabeSubscriber‘, there is also a reference to a weapon simply called ‘pipe’ (like ‘Cher’). It could be a whole new melee weapon, but the most exciting possibility is a new type of throwable explosive modeled after Valve’s Left 4 Dead Pipe Bomb.

Given their tricky weapon economy, all-new weapons are a rarity in Counter-Strike – veterans will remember the debacle following the introduction of the R8 revolver in 2016, which had to be quickly nerfed after diving the meta into chaos. With that in mind, it’s possible that a pipe bomb (or even a harmless bit of pipe) could make its way to Counter-Strike 2 if the free-for-all battle royale shooter Danger Zone, which balances very differently from his traditional way. competitive format – they were going to make a comeback.

In the main game, however, we also have an interesting new find: there are apparently two new radio hosts, a male and a female. Shared by Twitter user “ALE”, you can listen to their full voice clips below.

While we wait for Counter-Strike 2 to arrive in full, check out some of the other best free games on Steam. You may also want to familiarize yourself with CSGO’s most powerful reticle, as all their elements will carry over to CS2.
