The Mocaverse starts fast! Not even three weeks after its NFT hit, Mocha NFTs were revealed, utility cases were added, and an experience system was put in place. And as a result, this PFP collection of goofy characters has also gone up in value!
Fresh from the mint of its Moca PFP collection, Animoca Brands is already finding ways to generate value and utility in this new venture. The Mint allowed participants to generate two Mocha NFTs for the price of one, with an end cost of just over $100 per NFT. Now the lowest price for Mocas is almost 1500 USD!
On March 17, the Mocas were unveiled and a soft betting system was put in place for starters. This system allows Mocas to begin earning experience points that will fuel the intended and continued usefulness of these NFTs.

Animoca wants these Mocas to help give more visibility to its entire portfolio, as well as to create links between its wide range of projects.
An example of this is the recent acquisition of 1.5 million Ape coins (valued at over US$6 million), placed in a special ETH wallet. These coins confer voting rights in the Yuga Labs ecosystem, in which Animoca is already an investor. Once the system is in place, owners will be able to use their Mocas in a consensus, proxy vote for any proposal available for DAO-based voting in the BAYC ecosystem.
Expect to see more connections like this added in the coming months. And the fact that Animoca Labs is very quickly bringing utility and value to this Mocaverse project is a very optimistic sign in my opinion!

Mocha experience system
The Mocaverse also introduced an experience system for Mocas. Mocas can earn experience points through a soft entry program, as well as by participating in special events, contests, and community rewards.
The soft betting program began in secret when the Mocas were first revealed on March 17. Each betting period lasts one week. Earning points is simple. Owning a mocha and not selling it, trading it, or even offering it for sale. Each day left in your wallet is worth one experience point. So if you haven’t done anything with your Mochas, you’ve already earned experience points!

So what is the point of this experience system? Mocha’s experience will count towards future whitelist draws and end-of-season loot boxes. Boxes can be categorized into different tiers and can contain tokens and NFTs from partners and projects in the Animoca wallet.
Accumulated experience points stay with the Mocha when transferred to another wallet. However, at the end of each season, all experience points will be reset for the next round, allowing new owners to join in the fun. They will be updating their website soon so owners can see how much experience their Mocas have accumulated.
