There’s been a big shake-up at 2K studio Firaxis Games today, as the former creative director of XCOM y Marvel’s Midnight SunsJake Solomon has announced that he is leaving the studio after 23 years.

In a message to fans, Solomon noted how grateful he is to Firaxis and 2K for their support over the past two decades, while also revealing that his next plan is to “pursue” a new dream.

2K also announced today that Firaxis Games studio head Steve Martin will be leaving the company after more than 25 years and will be replaced by COO Heather Hazen.

“2K and Firaxis Games are deeply grateful for the foundations Steve Martin laid during his time at the studio, guiding over 30 game releases across three genre-defining franchises, and for ensuring a smooth transition for Heather into her new role. . . Firaxis is one of the most renowned studios in our company and in the industry, and we are confident that the team will continue to do great things under his leadership.”

And finally, it has been confirmed that a new entry in the Civilization The series is officially in development at the studio, with Ed Beach continuing his role as creative director on this project. Marvel’s Midnight Suns it will also continue to support post-launch content.
