This time the official FFVII Remake Twitter account focused attention on none other than Shinra’s security guard who is assigned to be Scarlet’s stepping stone. Naturally, his name is Ottoman.
Although Ottoman works as Shinra’s security guard, his duties do not see him confront the Avalanche or other enemies of Shinra on the front lines. Instead, he has very important and special commands to act as a footstool for Scarlet, the director of Shinra Advanced Weaponry, as seen in FFVII Remake Intermission, when she sits down in her chair and tends to her swollen feet.
Apparently, the back of the Ottoman is specially padded for maximum comfort. Since he’s Scarlett’s favorite employee, he’s on call nearly 24 hours a day. At the end of the tweet, Square Enix added the cheeky comment “Hope everyone has a great weekend.”
