Last night was the annual Met Gala, an event where celebrities from all walks of life appear in a collection of outlandish and outlandish outfits, all to raise money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York. While you’ve probably seen some of the outfits the stars wore before, one of the biggest surprises revolved around how Jared Leto made his entrance.

As the theme of this year’s event was to pay tribute to the late fashion designer Karl Legerfeld, Leto decided to attend dressed as Choupette, Lagerfeld’s Birman cat. And as for his appearance, Leto appeared in a giant cat costume, equipped with a removable head.

Needless to say, he looked like a mascot walking the red carpet at this year’s event, until Leto removed his head, revealing who was hiding underneath.
