Twitch

With the streaming platform Twitch, every gamer can theoretically turn his hobby into a profession. Every minute, big and small gamers from all over the world are streaming as they are playing a certain game and interacting with their viewers – no matter if a lot or a little.

A crazy scenario has now happened to a small streamer. After teleporting to the wrong world at Old School Runescape, the streamer lost $ 15,000 worth of gold and freaked out in front of his family. However, there is speculation that the whole scenario was staged.

Old School Runescape

As in any MMORPG, Old School Runescape players spend countless hours grinding and making money to buy the best items in the game.

Unlike many other titles of the same genre, however, there are certain areas and worlds in Runescape where a player who is killed with their gold drops everything on the ground – and loses.

These PvP areas are incredibly dangerous and are avoided by most players unless they are prepared for a fight. Unfortunately, one Runescape streamer made the mistake of logging into such a PvP world, which resulted in him being killed for over 30 billion gold.

Family

This is what happened with the smaller streamer VoldemartLive, who just streamed Old School Runescape and interacted with his chat while his family sat in the background. Without knowing that he was in a PvP world and had 30 billion gold in his inventory, the streamer teleported to the duel arena and was immediately attacked by another player. Unable to escape, VoldemartLive panicked and even asked his viewers to come and rescue him.

Unfortunately, nobody was able to intervene and he was knocked down by the opposing player. At that point VoldemartLive started screaming and freaking out in front of his wife and child! So he smashed his headset and hit his chair. So it was obvious to see that he had just lost $ 15,000 worth of gold in the game

It is now hotly debated on Reddit whether the whole scenario is real or just faked. According to some opinions, this could be a planned death with the accompanying sale of gold to a “real money trader”. Although it is against the rules of the game, Old School Runescape Gold can be exchanged for real money through third-party websites.

On the other hand, it would argue that the kill happened at a point where there is actually a lot of camping, which would make such a scenario seem realistic again. What do you think?
