In Sons of the Forest, you’ll spend most of your time collecting resources. Some resources can be picked up as loot, but you’ll have to run into additional issues for others. For example, to obtain certain specific plants, you will have to cultivate them yourself. To do this, you need to learn how to get and plant seeds in Sons of the Forest.

How to plant seeds in Sons of the Forest

Seeds can be bought in different parts of the forest. The fastest way to get them is to collect plants while exploring the forest. Sometimes you will get the seeds from the plant you harvested. So make sure to harvest as many plants as possible if you are looking for seeds.

Next, you need to create a flowerpot using the craft book. You can access it by pressing the ‘B’ key. Then you have to hold down the ‘X’ key to switch modes. When the book appears in your left hand, click “Gardening” to see options for planters. There are a total of two planters you can build: a wall-mounted planter and a free-standing planter. It takes 16 sticks for the first and 18 for the second. Choose whichever you prefer, but I’ll most likely make a floor one, since you don’t need a base for that.

After building the standing planter, walk up to it and hold ‘E’. You can then choose the seeds you want to plant and they will be fully developed in 2-3 days. We have yet to find out if there is anything that can speed up the growth process, but it stands to reason that rainwater could help.
