Cinema is a fundamental tool in the Fatal Marco series, and Fatal Frame: Lunar Eclipse Mask is no exception. You’ll use it to defend yourself against ghosts and to take photos of vital clues that will help you progress through the game. While picking up the film is a no-brainer, there are a few things to keep in mind when you try to find it and when to use it in Fatal Marco. Outside of a specific film type, the most powerful amount of film you get is finite.

How to find movies on Fatal Frame: Lunar Eclipse Mask

The movie can be acquired in-game by finding it using the flashlight or the camera viewfinder. If you see your filament (the little bar at the bottom right of your screen) glowing blue, that means there’s an object nearby. It’s worth spending time trying to find this film, as it means it’s a stronger version of the Type-07 film that’s standard for your camera. That’s largely because towards the end of the game and for the final boss fight, you’ll want to stock up on the coveted Type-61, Type-90, and Type-Zero. The Type-Zero film should be used exclusively for the final boss if you can manage it.

Also note that if your arm is caught trying to reach an object, that object will disappear forever. So be sure to release any assigned button or key to grab an item the moment you hear one of the three main characters gasp or make some sort of startled noise.

Fortunately, there is a film that you can use as much as you want without recourse in Fatal Frame: Lunar Eclipse Mask: Type-07. This film has limitless uses and is especially useful for eliminating ghosts that appear early in the game. It is also good for shooting leads. Another benefit is that your camera will automatically revert to using Type-07 film after any encounter. This saves you from accidentally taking investigative shots with your weirdest and most powerful film. But you’ll want to keep this in mind if you encounter ghosts.
