Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 players will participate in many exclusive contracts and events in its 40-player Resurgence mode. The Ashika Island location certainly has it covered, though data theft should be the primary target for squads. The event tasks players with taking down waves of armored AI soldiers to earn swaths of valuable weapons and gear. That being said, a data theft can be difficult to track down. Here’s how to find a Data Heist in Warzone 2.0 and what rewards you can get for completing one.

How data theft works in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0

During each Resurgence match, data heists take place at three different uplink stations on the map once the second circle is revealed. Those who want to participate in a heist must download data from the laptop inside the station and then defend it against waves of enemies until all their files are downloaded. Once the download process is complete, it will reward your team with bonus XP, Money, and Tactical Gear. However, if you can pull off multiple data heists in a single match, other goods will also be awarded, such as killstreaks and an advanced UAV.

As shown above, the Tactical Map will display the general area of a Data Heist as a yellow dotted circle, but the exact location of a Heist will only appear once your team is in inside the circle. While it’s possible to complete a Data Heist without fighting these AI enemies, each kill you get will speed up the download process. More importantly, enemies interacting with the laptop can completely stop this process, ultimately resulting in a failed heist.

Since enemies are wearing three-plate vests, it is recommended that teams secure their loadouts before embarking on data theft. Events usually take place in small enclosed areas, so Assault Rifles and SMGs should thrive the most while defending the Laptop. So if you’re looking for the perfect weapon to use in a heist, we highly recommend players build their class builds around the Lachmann Sub, M13B, or ISO Hemlock.
