After we reported a rumor last week that Horizon Forbidden West should not go on sale until 2022, the PlayStation team has confirmed the date for the end of 2021 again.

An advertisement was seen on Instagram that dates the sequel to “Late 2021”. The dates for Returnal (April 30, 2021) and Ghostwire: Tokyo (2021) could also be seen there.

The rumor about the later release came from insider Anton Logvinov, who was most recently correct with his leak about the PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn.

As long as Guerrilla Games does not officially comment on the topic, fans can expect a release this year. There are not too many details about the game yet.

Horizon Forbidden West was revealed during the PS5 event last summer. Players will once again slip into the role of Aloy, who this time explores the ruins of California.

The successor will appear in stores for PS5 and PS4. In addition to Horizon Forbidden West, rumors circulated last week about a later release of the new God of War on the Internet.

The statement by Creative Director Cory Barlog could also point to a date in 2022. Gran Turismo 7 for PS5 has been officially postponed so far. The racing simulation was also planned for 2021.

Development studios around the world continue to struggle with current working conditions due to the pandemic. Later appointments are usually the result.
