Since its release in early February, Harry Potter and Steam bestselling role-playing game Hogwarts Legacy has made enough money for Warner Bros. has grown faster than that of Tesla, Amazon or Meta, with numbers to date. showing significant profit for the game’s publisher, fueled by the success of Hogwart Legacy. Although Sons of the Forest and Destiny 2 Lightfall have now pushed Hogwarts Legacy back onto Steam’s most popular list, Warner Bros. rebounded strongly after a three-year gradual decline.
Between January 1 and February 27, the price of Warner Bros. rose from around US$9 (GBP£7.45) per share to US$16 (GBP£13.24). Although still considerably below its all-time high of $77 USD (£63.72 GBP), Warner Bros. has grown in 2023, at a pace that outpaces major S&P 500 rivals including Tesla, Amazon and Meta.
Since the start of 2023, Tesla shares are up 60%, with Meta and Amazon rising 38% and 11%, respectively. According to figures from Market Insider, in the same period since the start of the year, WB shares are up 64%. The publisher previously reported that Hogwarts Legacy sold 12 million copies in its first two weeks, generating sales of US$850m (£703m).
