The Pokemon Company offered another look at the anime tracks replacing Ash, while also revealing that the show they star in will air in Japan in April.

Coming to Tokyo TV, the series will follow two new leads, which you can see below, named Liko and Roy.

Right now, the only description we have of Liko is that she’s a girl with a “mystery pendant”, which you might recognize as the logo on Ash’s classic hat. This pendant will no doubt be a factor in the upcoming Pokemon animated series, but for now, it’s the only small detail we have about the two newcomers to lead the series.

The new Pokemon anime series will premiere in Japan on April 14, and there’s no word yet on an international release date. The new show will feature Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly from 2022’s Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, incorporating a trio of starter creatures from the more recent mainline games.

Elsewhere, we also know that the Legendary Pokemon Rayquaza will appear in the new show, but in its shiny form. Pokémon players have been battling for dozens of hours to get a glimpse of the ever-elusive Shiny variants, so it looks like our duo will be hunting down the rare creature in the new anime.

Obviously, this all follows after Pokemon announced they were retiring Ash and Pikachu after over 20 years together in the animated series. The iconic duo bid farewell to Pokémon fans of all generations, and it was recently revealed that a lineup of star friends will accompany Ash and Pikachu’s latest anime arc to say goodbye, only to make goodbyes even more difficult. . .

Now, however, Liko and Roy will grace the Pokémon anime with their own adventures in a few months. Considering the goodbyes Ash and Pikachu received, we’d say the duo certainly have their work cut out for them.
