GTA V will soon celebrate its 10th anniversary, and the game is still selling like hotcakes. A success largely due to GTA Online?
GTA V is an anomaly. The game was released almost 10 years ago and continues to be one of the best-selling games in the world every year, despite the lack of new single-player content. The main reason for this success can be explained simply and in two words: GTA Online. The online modality of the game has had an undeniable success, which does not seem to fade over time. It must be said that Rockstar strives to offer new content to players, and the modding community helps to make the experience always new. GTA RP was also a big reason for the game’s long-term success. One thing’s for sure: without GTA Online, one wonders how Rockstar could have kept gamers waiting for the sequel.
GTA Online and its success surprise even its creators
