Fortnite’s current season will end on March 8sooner than expected, and this change has received mixed reviews from its gaming community.

Fortnite is divided into chapters and seasons; Chapters involve a completely different map, weapons, and NPCs, while Seasons involve minor gameplay changes, some weapons change, and NPCs appear and disappear. For many, the best part of starting a new season is being able to experience a different Battle Pass and level it up.

Battle Pass cosmetic rewards are exclusive to each season, so they cannot be obtained in any other way thereafter. This means that to get their full share, players need to max out the pass before the end of the season.

As soon as Chapter 4 Season 1 went live and the Battle Pass was revealed, players knew they would have until March 10 to complete it and when a new season arrived it would no longer be available.

Epic Games recently announced that this season will end a few days ahead of schedule. Chapter 4 Season 1 will now end on March 8, at which time Downtime and Season 2 will begin on a Thursday instead of a Saturday.

Community response has been quite mixed, with players who had already completed this season’s Fortnite Battle Pass wanting a new one as soon as possible, and left-behind fans needing those extra few days.
