Final Fantasy XVI is out June 22 for PlayStation 5 and Square Enix recently held a press event to tell us more about the game, something you can read more about in our first impressions after playing a test.

During the event, the producer Naoki Yoshida made a pretty spectacular announcement (thanks, Gematsu), as it turns out the game has more hours of cinematic cutscenes than an entire season of a TV series like The Peacemaker, House of Dragons, or even The Last of Us:

“One thing that was important to us, however, was to tell a complete story, start to finish, and in that we believe we succeeded. To facilitate that, there are over 11 hours of cutscenes on the scene.. all seamlessly interwoven into the gaming experience, playing on the real-time engine.”

We guess it’s something not everyone will enjoy, while others will like it. What do you think, more than eleven hours of cinematic scenes is something positive, or would you have preferred the game to be more interactive?
