Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster finally has a release date on Switch. The collection will be released on April 19, 2023, Square Enix announced.

The pack contains the first six Final Fantasy games that have been updated with new 2D pixel graphics, rearranged soundtracks overseen by original composer Nobuo Uematsu, and enhanced gameplay features. There will be a modernized UI, auto-combat options, and more.

Here is a summary of the different features:

Changing Soundtracks: The Pixel Remaster Series features absolutely stunning new orchestral arrangements of the Final Fantasy I – VI soundtracks. However, we know that some of you may want to recreate the original experience of playing these games, so you can switch between the original and rearranged soundtracks.

Switch Fonts: The console version of Final Fantasy I–VI gives you the ability to switch between two different fonts: the default font and a new pixel-based font that recreates the vibe of the original games.

Disable random encounters: Sometimes you just want to explore in peace, so a new feature in Pixel Remaster Games lets you disable random encounters completely. This means you can roam the world without being harassed by monsters. It also means you won’t get any stronger, so be careful how you use it…

Adjust the Experience: Speaking of getting stronger, do you want to speed things up a bit? Boost functions allow you to adjust the experience gained up to four times. Perfect if you want an easier run through games.
