On Dec 6 2018, Epic Games burst into the news to launch its own online store on PC, called the Epic Games Store. Thought to compete with the Steam eerie, the platform continues to gain users and continues its aggressive policy.

Since its launch, the Epic Games Store has been based on three principles: a distribution of earnings more favorable to developers, exclusives (often temporary), and many games offered to users. However, it is unclear how long Epic Games will continue with this policy, aimed first at installing the platform. Part of the answer comes from PC Gamer, who was able to obtain a statement from an unnamed Epic Games representative. The latter indicates that, in the next two years, there will be more exclusives than there have been until now.

A statement that contrasts with that of Steve Allison, director of the platform, who indicated in 2019 that Epic would not necessarily pursue this policy temporary exclusives forever. For about two years 100 titles released on the Epic Games Store with the exclusive labeleven temporary. For the time being, PC Gamer estimates that around 20 exclusive titles are expected. However, it is important to note that some titles presented as exclusive are compared to Steam, but that they are also accessible on proprietary platforms such as Ubisoft Connect.
