The Candela C-8 is quite a unique ship in that it technically flies. Well, it can’t sprout wings and take you on the same journey as an airplane, but it hovers a few feet above the water on stilts attached to wave-cutting hydrofoils.

The C-8 is a luxury personal watercraft created by Swedish shipbuilder Candela, but the battery is made by electric vehicle company Polestar. The EV company is primarily known for land vehicles, but has collaborated with Candela on this occasion to create a very unique vessel.

With increased performance, once it reaches around 16 knots, the Candela C-8 lifts off, and most of it does not hit the water below. This makes it feel more like a hovercraft than a traditional ship. Candela also promises to release a floating ferry that can help people with their daily commute in Stockholm.
