You will trigger the Stone Tablet quest when you extract your first Stone Tablet at one of the previously marked locations. It’s unclear if you have to return to the merchant in Little Marrow every time you find one or if you can find all three and bring them all to the merchant. We bring them all to the trader individually, so we recommend you do the same as there is interesting dialogue for each encounter.

Once you return all three to the merchant, he will fuse them together and give you the fused tablet. This is a powerful artifact that you can use to enter the old Devil’s Spine Lighthouse, the same area where you mined all the Stone Tablets. It’s hard to miss because it looms so high at the top of the map.

When you enter you will receive a selection of rewards including Flame of the Sky. This is a powerful light that only takes up two slots in your ship but provides more lumens than any other slotted light in the game. Since the Merchant asked for it, it’s worth coming back to him. once inside the Ancient Lighthouse to finish his dialogue and satisfy his curiosity.

What is the Flame of Heaven?

Flame of the Sky is an interesting tool in Dredge because it doesn’t seem to come from the depths like other cosmic objects like the Mouth of the Depths Crab Trap. It’s a light that provides 3500 lumens for your boat, brighter than anything you can outfit in the same space. The nature of this tool, which is a light, is the polar opposite of all aberrations and otherworldly elements it may acquire. This leads us to believe that this item was used to banish cosmic horrors from the waters around Greater Marrow until it was stolen and locked away in the old lighthouse.

Since stone tablets are the only thing that allows you to get this light, and getting it without being eaten by a giant goldfish is nearly impossible without otherworldly powers, we’re guessing someone under the influence of an ancient god blocked him away. The proximity of a fish worship cult on the nearby island indicates that one of the Zealot’s duties may have been to keep people away from the old lighthouse. There is no penalty for using this light and it helps you navigate better than anything else in the game. It is the only remnant of the force that could have once fought the horrors that form history Dredge power station.
