Have you ever wondered what a health potion looks like in Diablo 2 Resurrected? Maybe a mana? Well, Blizzard’s new Diablo cookbook, inspired by the demonic RPG, promises all that and more.
If you’re willing to sell your soul to try Sanctuary’s spit-roasted cuisine (or spend $34.99; it’s not available in the UK store at the time of writing) then you’re in luck; Blizzard has finally unveiled its Diablo cookbook.
This isn’t the company’s first foray into the world of food, as Overwatch and World of Warcraft cookbooks have been around for a while, the first of which sits on a shelf in my kitchen.
“Take a culinary journey through the dark fantasy world of Sanctuary with Diablo: The Official Cookbook, a tasty compilation of recipes inspired by Blizzard Entertainment’s iconic series,” reads the blurb.
“Through Sanctuary and prepare to feast on over 60 unique Diablo-inspired culinary delights in this one-of-a-kind cookbook experience,” it continues. “From the humble town of Tristram to the mighty Mount Arreat, you’ll learn how to survive the horrors of this dark and nightmarish fantasy world as you sample delicious food and drink from the fiery hells to the high heavens.”
Diablo’s cookbook is 192 pages long and its release date is set for October 24, 2023., according to retailer Simon and Schuster. At this time, only US listings are available and no cover art is shown. All this is very mysterious, but also tempting.
As someone who’s used the Overwatch cookbook to make things like Reinhardt’s Currywurst (I love them), I’m very excited to see how Blizzard takes on the macabre world of Sanctuary. I expect the emphasis to be on meat, blood, tripe and gore, as well as very traditional and hearty foods. As I sit and take a sip of the Diablo Immortal Health Potion collaboration that dropped last year, I admit I’m getting too excited for something a little silly, but am I embarrassed? Absolutely not.
