The launch of PS-VR2 is imminent and sony is stepping up its marketing for the brand’s next device, releasing two teardown videos.

These videos will appeal to the more tech-savvy PlayStation gamers who want to see how new PS VR2 players work internally before picking them up on February 22.

PS VR2 is the successor to the original PlayStation VR headset released in October 2016. PS VR2 will not only be more compatible with PS5, but will also provide gamers with a more cable-free experience by using a single cable instead of the multitude of cables required. to use the original PS VR.

Both videos are in Japanese, with subtitles available. The first of these features lead designer of the PS VR and PS VR2 headsets, Takamasa Araki.

Araki explains how the Mechanical Design Team took consumer feedback on the original PS VR and used it to make design decisions for PS VR2, both aesthetically and practically.

Araki reveals that it was user feedback that led to the decision to keep as much comfort as possible when designing the glasses’ symmetrical design. This information also inspired the decision to make the device light and compact, while remaining strong and durable.
