Destiny 2: The Witch Queen is almost here. Bungie assures that this is the beginning of the end of the Light and Dark saga.

There’s a ton of new stuff to look forward to, including a new destination, subclass changes, a new raid, Legendary difficulty for the campaign, and more.

However, some of the content will also disappear, at least for a while. The Forsaken campaign and most of the Year 4 seasonal content, for example.

When does Destiny 2 maintenance start?

Destiny 2 maintenance will begin about 15 hours before the release of The Witch Queen, which will fall on Monday, February 21 if you live in the Americas, or early Tuesday, February 22 if you live in Europe.

Destiny 2 maintenance will begin at this time:

  • Mainland Spain and Europe: 3:45am (CET, Tuesday)
  • Canary Islands and United Kingdom: 2:45am (GMT, Tuesday)
  • East Coast USA: 9.45pm (EST, Monday)
  • West Coast USA: 6:45 pm (PST, Monday)

Destiny 2 will be available again when The Witch Queen expansion is released (we’ll tell you when in the next section).

Meanwhile, The Witch Queen update will be released, which will allow you to start the download before launch. Please note that if you play on PS4 you will need to re-download Destiny 2 in its entirety. On the other hand, if you play on Google Stadia you won’t have to download anything, as usual.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Release Time

  • Canary Islands and United Kingdom: 5pm (GMT)
  • US East Coast: 12pm (EST)
