Destiny 2 Lightfall’s raid race is set to take place in just a few days, but long-time players say major bugs could spoil the competition in FPS gameplay and make it unfair for the fringe of Destiny 2 players who shy away from it. compete to be the first. in the world to complete the activity.

Bugs related to armor mods and invisibility are already causing headaches for players, and given the stakes of the first community-driven World Race, where major clans can earn unique emblems and a reward of raid belt, losing due to a technical issue seems to be the worst. -case scenario, although quite possible.

The armor mod issues appear to be related to the game’s reworked mod system. Destiny 2 developers have overhauled the space game mod system for Lightfall. While intended to be generally beneficial, mod functionality issues could cause problems for players battling tough enemies for hours to claim the title of the world’s first Root of Nightmares raid race.

Among the issues, players are reporting that mods disable artifact abilities and affect subclass debuffs such as volatility, which can affect how players build their raid characters and weapon options. Some players are reporting that these issues may be related to having more than five stacks of decaying armor charges, but this is unconfirmed.

Guardians are also reporting an invisibility bug where characters appear in an invisible state on screen. While those who encounter this issue can usually still shoot and move, it removes the crosshair from the character, making it difficult to take accurate shots.

Bungie first noted the Destiny 2 Lightfall bug that made characters invisible on March 3, but it doesn’t seem to have fixed the mods not working as expected. At this time, Bungie does not appear to have introduced any fixes for either of these issues. The company will release a patch today, but it’s unclear if it will fix these issues.

In a contest scenario like the one Bungie is creating for the world’s first racing job, players experiencing these issues may face significant issues that could cause them to struggle unnecessarily with specific interactions. It could also waste valuable game time if Guardians needed a hard reset due to the invisibility glitch in difficult encounters.

While Bungie would do well to address these issues so as not to affect the integrity of the World First Race, it appears that the developer currently intends to continue the race as planned. Yesterday, the company released a trailer promoting the Destiny 2 Lightfall Raid Race and announced that it would be releasing two free emblems for players who watched the race for at least two hours via Twitch.
