The playwright, actress, activist and former Minister of Culture of Colombia, Patricia Ariza announced her return to theatrical stages, this time with a play in which she pays tribute to the women who served as leaders and were murdered for their fight to defend the land and its people.
This was announced on his Instagram account, where he announced that he would be present with the performance titled: “I am not alone”a proposal that joins the International Women’s Day.
The performance will take place on March 8, 2023 at Teatro La Candelaria, located at Calle 12 N°2-59, in the center of the country’s capital, at 7:00 p.m., with free admission until full capacity. It brings together the Colombian Theatrical Corporation, La Candelaria Theater and Women for Peace.
The artist said: “I will be this #8M with the performance “𝗡𝗼 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗼𝘆 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗮” in tribute to dead leaders”.
“𝗡𝗼 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗼𝘆 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗮” is a solo show in which artist Patricia Ariza takes the stage to talk about the women and leaders who have been murdered in the territory for defending their ideas, defending the land they live on, for looking for a safe place for them themselves and their families.
The artistic proposal joins more than 100 performances created by the ex-minister in which verbal and non-verbal languages merge in one place for the public. Various elements will appear in it in which the time and space of these experiences will tell the stories of women and men who lose their lives precisely because they are looking for better conditions of existence.
Patricia Ariza is a recognized artist in the world of theatre, but she has also worked as a poet and activist in cultural spaces.
