My word, it keeps happening. Over the past few days, Valve’s activity on the Steam backend apparently indicated the release of an updated version of its flagship FPS game in the form of CSGO Source 2. Now, however, it looks like we might be more close to a full version. Counter-Strike 2 sequel and release date: New trademark requests, both related to Global Offensive and something revealing labeled “CS2”, seem to suggest that Counter-Strike 2 is on the way.
To quickly recap, Valve made a number of changes to the CSGO Steam archive this week, adding new executables called “CS2”, as well as updates and changes to the Counter- Strike Global Offensive.
Initially, it looked like the long-awaited engine update, CSGO Source 2, was imminent, but a bit of research at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) seems to suggest that it might be a downside. – Strike 2. done. in exchange.
On March 14, Valve Corporation filed a trademark application with the USPTO for something called “CS2”. If that’s not enough, the overview contains an “Associated Properties Section” describing any other Valve trademarks that CS2 may be connected to. This section contains two serial numbers: searching for these two serial numbers reveals two other Valve properties, Counter-Strike and CSGO.

In a nutshell, Valve filed a new trademark for something called CS2 which is tied as intellectual property to the Counter-Strike and CSGO trademarks. There’s an incredible conspiracy theory going on right now that the CS2 version is somehow tied to the US version of The Office; You can read about it here. These new brand introductions, however, seem to be giving us something more solid.
If Counter-Strike 2 is really on the way, you better get to work on these CSGO ranges, or maybe get familiar with the best CSGO ranges. Alternatively, you might want to kill some time with the best free Steam games currently available.
