After nearly four years of success in Early Access, sci-fi submarine simulator Barotrauma is ready for its biggest mission yet: full launch. The game will be available today on Steam from 5pm GMT/6pm CET.

To celebrate this event and immerse players in the depths of Europe, publisher Daedalic Entertainment and developers FakeFish and Undertow Games have released a new Barotrauma video.

Barotrauma is a sci-fi submarine simulator that features both a single-player campaign and co-op modes supporting up to 16 players, who must navigate the depths of Jupiter’s icy moon Europa and complete various missions . In addition to their active and passionate community, developers FakeFish and Undertow Games have greatly expanded and improved the game since its early access release in summer 2019. They have completely revamped the campaign and tutorials, added new monsters, quests and outposts, they improved the graphics. and environments, implemented a scripted event system and much more. All of this was only possible thanks to the feedback and support of over 30,000 Discord members, as well as 60,000 player-created entries on the Steam Workshop. To demonstrate the team’s dedication to its players and fans, the developers even added a player-created submarine to the base game as part of a community contest.

The thrilling and often hilarious mayhem of Barotrauma is as fun to play as it is to watch, thanks to procedurally generated levels, ridiculous ragdoll physics, and full mod support. But beware: some threats are closer than you think. The multiplayer traitor mode option can randomly assign players as secret conspirators, with their own individual missions such as assassination and sabotage.
