Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is officially announced with a mysterious trailer, and receives a release date.

After months of rumors and rumors and more rumors, Activision has finally put an end to the “mystery” and confirmed that this year’s Call of Duty will be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and will be released on November 10. The announcement came in the form of a teaser on the franchise’s official accounts, which shows the logo, as well as bits of audio, where we can hear Captain Price and the game’s antagonist, who is expected to be Vladimir Makarov.

The 40-second audio plays the sound of the interior of a plane, a ship, a jet’s turbine and some dialogue. Price says “for cutting off snake heads”, then an unknown voice (perhaps General Shepherd) says “he is not new”, and the video ends with Makarov’s voice saying that you should never bury your enemies when they are still alive.

It is worth remembering that this is only the mere confirmation of a game that has been leaked ad nauseam by media and fans. What’s more, whistleblower Tom Henderson advanced in February of this year, that the release date of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was going to be, precisely, November 10, along with the following (unconfirmed) dates:

  • Beta Weekend 1 (PS4/PS5) – October 6 to October 10.
  • Beta Weekend 2 (PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/PC) – October 12 to October 16.
  • Campaign Early Access (PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/PC) – Nov. 2
  • Full launch (PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/PC) – Nov. 10

Ironically, a year ago, there was speculation that Activision was going to give Call of Duty a year off this year, but gradually, the publisher began to dismiss that rumor and there has been talk of Modern Warfare 3, developed by Sledgehammer Games, for several months now.
