Racing through the sewers finally pays off when the Bored Ape Yacht Club opens its Power Source Workshop. Additionally, a “Second Journey” event to the Other Side will take place at the end of March. But this time, Otherdeed owners can bring their friends!

Bored Apes owners have less reason to be bored as the BAYC ecosystem has plenty in store for the months to come. In addition to the Power Source mint now available, the Bored Ape Yacht Club will be offering Otherdeeds owners the chance to experience the other side during a Second Trip event at the end of March!

The Dookey Dash competition is over and players have tried their best to get as far as possible in this sewer driving game. Now all participants are eligible to mint their NFT reward!

Players who own a Sewer Pass and have gone through Dooky Dash can now craft their power sources. The Sewer Passes metadata contains the final rank score and an additional “Companion” trait for some. There are eight different types of power supplies. The type of power source players find is based on the Sewer Pass rank score. The Companion trait also changes to Power Source.

These power sources will receive an additional final metadata update in early April to reveal the Mech that is inside/created from the power source. More details on all of this should be coming in the coming weeks.

But not all available sewer passes have been hit. And some of them didn’t even enter the competition, which means there are more energy sources available than potential candidates. Therefore, the Bored Ape team will keep all unclaimed energy sources and distribute them in future events and giveaways.

If you’re thinking of buying a sewer pass to get a power source, make sure it hasn’t already been used! This should be obvious, as the NFT image will have a large VOID stamp on it.

A second trip to the other side

The Bored Apes also announced upcoming plans for a “second voyage” to the Other Side. The first trip was quite successful and was an impressive demonstration of their technology.

The second trip will take place on March 25. BAYC hasn’t given us the exact time yet, but they say those who join later may not be able to participate. This time, Otherdeed holders can even invite a guest for the experience! Although, again, we don’t yet have any information on how guest invitations work.

To make sure you get the latest details for ride two, join the Otherside Discord, follow BAYC on TwitterAnd keep an eye on the Yuga Labs news page!

Additionally, this Voyage provides another opportunity for Otherdeed owners to acquire the first Piece of Voyage Obelisk, a metadata upgrade to their NFT that will have some effect in the future. Yuga Labs says they will continue to support Otherdeed wielders with further opportunities to obtain the First Voyage Obelisk Coin even after the Second Voyage. So don’t worry too much if you can’t make it to this event.

What is the Other Side?

Otherside is a Metaverse project by Yuga Labs, the founders of the Bored Ape Yacht Club. It’s a world of floating islands, each an NFT Otherdeed (100,000 in total). Other actions are at different levels, affecting your appearance and resource production. Each plot can produce up to four different resources. Some lands come with special artifacts or Koda visitors. We don’t know what effect these special bonuses have, but it’s probably a good thing. Land NFTs are dynamic, designed to change and evolve based on the actions of the owner.
