Studio Wildcard disappointed many fans by confirming that Ark II has been delayed until late 2024, but we’ll still get a little taste of what’s to come in a few months.

Because the studio followed bad news with good news, because the developers want to get familiar with Unreal Engine 5 stock a remaster from ARK: Survival Evolved for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. It’s called ARK: Survival Ascended, and it’s slated for release in the end of august. This release will include the base game, The Island, Scorched Earth, Survival of the Fittest, and all “non-canon” DLC maps (will be added over time). Extensions will be sold separately in packs.

As for the improvements this remaster will offer, we will have Unreal Engine 5 Nanite, Lumen and RTXDI technology, dynamic water, interactive foliage, multiplayer and cross-platform mods, and quality of life changes such as an updated minimap, a new 3rd person camera, a ping system, and a whole host of other things to be revealed closer to launch you’ll find here.

Good news, right? The truth is that not quite, since the last content update for ARK: Survival Evolved will be available in June, before the Official game servers shut down in August. This isn’t exactly devastating news as it seems the vast majority are playing solo or on other types of servers these days, but it’s still kind of sad.
