There are only a few days left until the premiere of the highly anticipated film of Lighting there nintendoSuper Mario Bros.: The Movie and, as we all know, one of Hollywood’s newest stars, Anya Taylor Joy, give the floor to the princess. In an interview with Total Film, the actress opened up about preparing for the role and meeting with the film crew about how best to reimagine and redefine the princess in a more modern female role.
“From the first meeting the creators and I had about her, I was truly impressed and excited that we all agreed on who Peach should be in this new era.”
Taylor-Joy also described how her new princess would be a representation of female leadership and a role model for young men.
“When I first saw the film, I came out incredibly excited and very moved by the fact that now kids can have someone as a role model, and that’s female leadership. That’s how we are introducing female leadership. I felt very proud to be a part of it.
And very, very inspired. So I’m very proud to be a part of it, and I’m proud to be a part of it…Peach is an empowered woman.”
