Now that Horizon Forbidden West has officially completed development with the recent release of the Burning Shores expansion, Guerrilla must shape what will be the third and final part of Aloy’s epic adventure. But he will have to do without one of his “mothers”, since Angie Mets has just announced that she is leaving her position as director of the Dutch studio to be the new head of development at PlayStation Studios.

Mets has been a fundamental pillar of Guerrilla’s new direction after betting on a break from the Killzone series (which she herself has promoted since her first installment) and focusing on the open world with the Decima engine in Horizon: Zero Dawn. “The past two decades have been an absolute dream. Thank you Guerrilla for 20 unforgettable years.”

Joel Eschler and Hella Schmidt will take on new roles within the Guerrilla leadership team alongside Jan-Bart van Beek. And although he is no longer part of Guerrilla, his paths will surely cross again, now that he will take over the film and television division with PlayStation IPs.
