The major Chinese publisher NetEase is expanding in Spain by announcing the creation of a new development studio named Anchor Point, located in Barcelona. This new team will be led by Paul Ehretdirector and developer with 20 years of experience in the sector on PC and consoles.
Ehreth arrives accompanied by a great team of veterans with over a decade of experience, who have participated in hits such as Halo, Ghost of Tsushima, Red Dead Redemption 2 and The Division. One of the most notable names is Pere Torrents, the current chief operating officer.
This new headquarters will focus on developing action-adventure games, both for current (and future) platforms and for PC, and implanting amazing elements into them. Although the headquarters are in Spain, the new studio will recruit around 100 professionals in Europe and North America. The most sought-after profiles at the moment are developers, technical artists or designers to work remotely or in hybrid.
Paul Ehreth comments, “We are very excited to establish a new studio in Barcelona, the hometown of my great-grandparents, and to start building a strong team for our journey of exploration with NetEase Games.”
