The opening of a new server drew crowds of gamers to the not-so-young representative of the MMORPG genre. The developers do the same and announce ambitious plans for the future development of the game.
After almost 6 years on Steam, the MMO game Albion Online is setting new popularity records.

Last week, the game from German studio Sandbox Interactive GmbH attracted an average of 25,000 users on Steam, more than double the number when it debuted on the platform (then the average was around 10,000 players).
New server – go to Asia
The reason for the new records reached by Albion Online is undoubtedly the launch of a new game server: Albion Eastwhich is ultimately intended for Asian residents and whose servers are located in Singapore.
- Interestingly, the still unexplored new server, without development progress, has not only become a great opportunity to start the adventure for new players.
- The server launch also attracted veterans who decided to rediscover the game, in slightly different realities, especially the cheaper ones.
As the developers point out, Albion East will initially have a smaller world than Albion West, which has been running for years., whose objective is to preserve competition and an adequate density of players. However, the developers claim that with the influx of players, more regions of the game will be systematically unlocked.

What’s next for Albion online? Sandbox Interactive GmbH, on the occasion of the launch of the new server, presented a roadmap for its MMO game. This ranges from short-term goals to long-term strategies. Here are some highlights:
- The Spring Rituals event is coming soon to the game, which will take the same form as last year, but this time the addition will be a spooky version of the Spring Rabbit;
- in the near future, Albion Online will also receive the Beyond the Veil update, which will introduce new Mists items, Paths of Avalon customization and usability improvements;
- after the Spring Rituals and Beyond the Veil patches, the Dungeons Among the Mists update should roll in, but here we’ll have to wait for the next entry in the Developer Comment series for more details;
- long-term development strategies for Albion online will focus on three main areas: Better basics (improved market, more stable loot, improved stone market), providing continuous content (updates, new weapon line, new items) and introducing fantasy elements (legendary weapon system, changes to spell behavior, castle battle mechanics, etc.).
