Second film starring Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya and Florence Pugh to hit theaters in November 2023

The epic world of Arrakis opens its doors once again in Dune: Part 2. Ahead of its scheduled release in late 2023, a new trailer for the feature film has been unveiled to the public. Lasting three minutes, the clip hints at the dark fate that awaits Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) and reveals for the first time Christopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam IV. Rounding out the cast are Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, among others.

The sequel deals with the second half of Frank Herbert’s book adapted to film by Denis Villeneuve (Blade Runner, Intrigue). The first part achieved numerous critical accolades for the plot and its quality of photography. It also swept the Oscars in 2022, winning six golden statuettes.

“Dune 2 will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he joins Chani and the Fremen in a war motivated by revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family,” the sequel’s official synopsis posits. “Faced with a looming choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he strives to avoid a terrible future that only he can foresee.”

From the beginning of the trailer, it is clear that the scale of the project is colossal and will expand in depth the world introduced in 2021. The black and white footage introduces us to Austin Butler (Elvis) in the role of Feyd-Rautha, revealing his presence as one of the key characters in the plot as Chalamet’s major antagonist.
